ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGER

Its very rare to have a role of this nature become available! But due to an internal promotion, the Fletcher Acciona Joint Venture is in search for their next Environmental Manager.


This role will require you to:

  • Set the strategic direction for all environmental management goals

  • Lead and manage a team of highly engaged Environmental advisors

  • Oversee compliance & resource consent management processes

  • Build effective and enduring relationships with the Regulatory Bodies, Local Iwi & Community Stakeholders

You’ll be engaging and have a leadership style that is encouraging, open and innovative. We, in the Fletcher Acciona Joint Venture, provide for a 4-year long career to really make a difference on this Roads of National Significance project.  Your obliging nature & willingness to be hands on and help out within your team will set you apart. 


Purpose of the Position:

  • Implementation of the Project Construction Environmental Management Plan which include a sound knowledge of Erosion and Sediment Control, Ecological Mitigation, Noise and Vibration, and Air Quality pertaining to major roading infrastructure.

  • Ensuring compliance with all Resource Management Act (RMA) conditions, Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga Act authorities, DOC Permits and other legislation, excluding building consents.

  • Anticipating implementation issues that may affect potential compliance with consent conditions.  Work with the Consenting Manager to ensure that, where necessary, new Resource Consents or variations to existing conditions are obtained in a timely manner

  • Ensures that the environmental responsibilities are understood across the project and co-ordinates a monitoring programme to ensure that these responsibilities are addressed and met

  • Championing sustainability through the achievement of Green Roads Silver Status accreditation 

Qualifications & Experiences Needed:

  • Tertiary Qualification in the related field

  • Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role (including people management)

  • Sound knowledge of the Resource Management & Health & Safety Act

Civil Engineers – all levels


Purpose of the Position:

The purpose of the role is to plan, organise and manage the costs, programme and construction of the concrete & steel structures planned for the project. Manage a large structures construction team working on multiple structures to achieve programme, safety & quality targets within budget.

Qualification & Experience needed:

  • Engineering degree with a Structures and Civils background is essential

  • Strong analytical and management skills

  • Experience working on structures within a major Construction project

  • Experience with building box culverts and viaducts preferred


Earthworks Foreman (multiple vacancies)

This role will suit an experienced Foreman/Operator/Supervisor who is looking for a new challenge on a large road infrastructure project and feels they have the drive and experience to manage the immense earthworks needed for project completion. Strong local experience in major earthwork projects including working with the fickle Auckland weather throughout the year. Experience in NZ approved Erosion Control procedures is also essential


Requirement Include:

  • Previous experience in similar role on large infrastructure projects

  • Well-developed skills in earthworks and drainage

  • Good resource/material utilization skills and experience

  • Ability to lead, mentor and motivate a team

  • Ability to take direction from senior staff

  • A good attitude

Skills Requirement:

  • Leading a workforce including subcontractors and trades-people

  • Chairing daily pre-start/tool box meetings

  • Prepare reports and forecasts, including summary of construction progress, personnel forecasts, and expenditures forecast

  • Monitor the activities of subcontractors to ensure compliance with specifications and schedules

  • Inducting staff and leading by example with respect to HSE
